The seat

Fractional AI Consultant for Small Business

A fractional AI consultant fills the AI and operations role in your business without being a full-time hire, and that's the seat I hold for $4,000 a month. I turn what's said into owned work, drive it every day and run the systems I've built. Anything that leaves your business or changes a record waits for a person's yes.

Who it's for

Some businesses would rather have the role filled than hire for it. You don't have an AI lead, you don't have the time to chase the work, and a full-time hire is more than you need. The seat is a role, not a helpline and not a check-in call. If what you have is one project, the fractional AI implementation lead package sees a single project through from plan to handover, for $350 to $1,500 by size.

What I do in the seat

The work that usually falls between everyone's jobs, done by one person who owns it.

Turn talk into owned work

I listen to you and your team and turn what's said into organised, sequenced tasks with a name on each one.

Get requirements right first

I make sure both sides understand what's wanted before anything is built, so it isn't found broken at delivery.

Drive it every day

I chase action items, surface blockers and hold owners to their own estimates, so work doesn't stall quietly.

Keep you posted

Status, notes and follow-ups come from me, so you don't have to ask where things stand.

Run the systems I built

AI agents do the production work. I architect, direct, review and govern what they produce, which is why one person can hold this seat.

The background behind it

Two kinds of experience, and I'd rather you know which is which.

Operations work before AI

From 2019 to 2022, before I moved into AI, I worked as a marketing manager, business developer and online business manager for small businesses. That was five contracts, the longest running 19 months. It wasn't AI work, but it's the same job of running the operation next to the owner.

25 years across IT, marketing and operations

I've delivered 135+ projects for clients, so I know where small-business operations tend to break and what a sensible fix costs in effort.

Systems I've built with Claude

For a private aviation charter broker, I built a lead engine with Claude Code that reads each new inquiry, researches the person, logs the deal in HubSpot and drafts the reply for review. It was live when I handed it over, along with a daily check that each automation ran and did real work. I'm a Claude Partner Network member (2026).

How it works and what it costs

The seat is $4,000 a month, with the scope agreed in writing before it starts.

The route

It starts with a free conversation where you walk me through how the work runs and I listen. The seat sits at the end of the route on How an Engagement Runs. When a build comes out of the work, it's priced on its own after a plan, as set out on What Goes Into a Build. Your software and AI usage bills come to you directly and stay separate from my price.

Questions people ask
  • What does a fractional AI consultant do?

A fractional AI consultant fills the AI and operations role in your business without being a full-time hire. In my seat that means turning what's said in your meetings into organised, owned tasks, driving them daily, keeping you posted, and running the systems I've built for you.

  • How much does a fractional AI consultant cost?

The seat is $4,000 a month. Before it starts, you and I agree the scope in writing, so you know what the month covers. Your own software and AI usage bills come to you directly and stay separate.

  • Are you a fractional chief AI officer?

I don't use that title. What I do is the hands-on version: I own the day-to-day AI and operations work, and I tell you when something shouldn't be built at all.

  • How is this different from a one-project package?

The seat is a role I hold in your business, month after month. A package is one AI project seen through from plan to handover. If you have one project and not a role to fill, the package is the better fit.

  • Will the AI send things or change records on its own?

Anything that leaves your business or changes a record waits for a person's yes. Steps you've approved, like a reminder to your own staff, can run on their own, and each one is written down before it's switched on.

  • Do I need to know what to build before I start?

No. You describe the outcome you want, and working out the path is my job. It starts with a free conversation where you walk me through how the work runs and I listen.

Where to start

The seat starts with a free conversation. Tell me what keeps slipping between people in your business right now, and I'll tell you straight whether the seat, a single project, or nothing at all is the right next step.
